Call before you burn – Burn permits are required by state law for any outside burning of natural material (grass, leaves, logs, stumps or any woody debris that are free of paint or chemicals) when there is no snow surrounding the burn area. Spring and fall time are our most dangerous times for wildland fires. Contact Forest Fire Warden Brenda Field at 802-889-5548, or Assistant Forest Fire Warden John Durkee at 802-889-3408 to obtain a burn permit or if you have any questions.

Follow us on Facebook for alerts during severe weather or a major emergency. Look for department updates on our Facebook page as well.
